Valorant guide — utility before aim
Valorant rewards players who treat a session as a plan, not a highlight reel. This page focuses on utility before aim so you can spend the next hour improving one habit instead of copying a random loadout. The notes below stay practical: what to do first, what to ignore, and how other players usually punish mistakes.
Utility before aim
A round plan is smokes, flashes, and a default. Aim is the last 20%. That is the difference between a clean Valorant session and a reset.
Save rounds exist. Forcing every pistol is how you donate rifles.
Default and retake
On attack, default until you see a rotate. On defense, play for retake if the execute is already lost.
Comms should be short: number, utility, site.
Aim routines
Ten minutes in the range beat a tilted DM. Strafe-stop still wins more duels than flicks.
A simple Valorant checklist
Before you queue: know the mode, the map or biome, and the kit you can afford to lose. Valorant punishes hero loadouts more often than it punishes slow play.
After you die: write one sentence about the mistake. If the sentence is “I got unlucky,” you are not learning the game yet.
